A JKLF spokesman in Srinagar said that he, himself, pleaded his case in the court, and inquired why the local police had carried out a murderous attack on his locality, his family and himself. He went on to ask why the police and Special Operation Group personnel had raided his house at night time, and tortured his old mother, ailing sister and other elders in the Maisuma area of Srinagar.
The court was also told that this hooliganism by police was probably meant to scare him and his family alongside other locals of Maisuma. Malik has been booked in a 29-year-old case, which also involves Syed Ali Gilani, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone Shaheed, Qazi Nisar Shaheed, Ghulam Muhammad Shah as accused persons.
