LAHORE: City Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said that additional traffic wardens have been deployed at the construction sites of Orange Line Metro Train (OMT) and other important thoroughfares to maintain traffic flow during rain.
He told media persons that the additional staff was deployed at Canal Bank Road underpasses, MM Alam Road, Gawalmandi Chowk, McLeod Road, OutFall Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Mozang Chowk and other important roads to avoid traffic jams during rain.
The CTO said that cash reward and commendatory certificates would be awarded to those traffic officials who would perform their duties with responsibility and added that the DSPs and sector In-charges have also been directed to issue continuous instructions for maintaining smooth traffic flow during rains.
Cheema said that the City Traffic Police (CTP) has set up effective parking measures besides taking action against encroachers and other traffic rules violators to facilitate the people.
