ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali khan has met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif twice during the last 24 hours to discuss prevailing political situation in the country including the newsgate probe.
Sources said the meetings were aimed at persuading the Punjab chief minister to make certain changes in the cabinet and bureaucracy. They said that Nisar wanted two provincial ministers and a bureaucrat, allegedly involved in the news leak scandal, removed from their offices till the completion of investigations into the matter. However, the chief minister has not agreed to the proposal, added sources.
